An Introduction To Venice with Gondola RideGet a taste of Venice's top sights and hidden gems with a tour through its atmospheric streets and canals
If you’re visiting Venice for the first time or unsure where to begin, this immersive walking tour and gondola ride is the perfect introduction to the city. Discover Venice on foot and by water as you explore its most iconic landmarks alongside hidden corners that many visitors never see.
Begin near the famous Rialto Bridge, where your local guide will share the surprising story of why its construction was once considered a terrible idea. Stop by the lively Rialto Fish Market to learn about Venice’s long fishing tradition and culinary heritage, and pick up a few restaurant tips from your guide along the way.
Wander through quiet alleyways and lesser-known neighborhoods to experience daily life in Venice. Admire historic palaces, a striking Verrocchio statue in Campo San Giovanni e Paolo, and a mix of classic Venetian architectural styles. Visit a quirky, much-loved bookstore set along a canal, home to friendly resident cats, with free time to explore inside.
The tour concludes in St. Mark’s Square with skip-the-line entry to St. Mark’s Basilica. Inside, marvel at the breathtaking gold mosaics as your expert guide explains the church’s unique blend of Eastern and Western influences and the dramatic story of St. Mark’s relics.
Finish your experience with a relaxing 30-minute gondola ride through Venice’s quieter canals, shared with no more than five people for an intimate and unforgettable finale.
